Sam Steele is the Inverness poet who will tell you he is a reluctant performer and then prove otherwise: slam heats at the Bike Shed, open-mic nights, children’s books with a Loch Ness alpaca in them, and poems that run from wordplay to the small Highland days that add up. He writes for people who swear they don’t like poetry. They usually stay.
